One mileage engine, one platform: MileMaker integrates with Princeton TMX for truck-legal distance and routing.
Chicago, ILL. -- September 18, 2026 -- MileMaker, Rand McNally’s commercial truck routing and mileage engine, is partnering with Princeton TMX to bring truck-specific mileage and routing directly into the Princeton TMX transportation management platform.
The integration embeds the MileMaker Web Services API into Princeton TMX, giving shippers access to truck-specific mileage and routing calculations within the same system they use to plan, tender, track, and audit freight.
Miles are the number almost everything else keys off of. Rate calculation, load building, carrier tendering, accessorial validation, and freight audit all depend on a distance that both shipper and carrier can agree on.
With MileMaker integrated into Princeton TMX, that mileage can be generated directly inside the TMS, eliminating the need for a separate lookup tool, exported mileage tables, or manual reconciliation between different mileage sources.
The integration is live and available to Princeton TMX customers today. Customers who already have a MileMaker license can connect using their existing credentials, while customers without a MileMaker license can be provisioned through Princeton TMX.
MileMaker’s routing data traces back to 1980, when Rand McNally combined its map database with electronic routing and mileage systems. Today, MileMaker provides commercial truck routing and mileage for shippers, brokers, carriers, and 3PLs across North America.
Our mapping data includes more than 8.2 million North American road miles across 67 million uniquely attributed road segments, including more than 240,000 vertical clearance restrictions, 550,000 truck weight limits, and 370,000 HAZMAT restrictions.
These truck-specific attributes help distinguish a truck-legal route from a route that simply looks short on a map.
